Precautions for aquatic fish and shrimp feed
The quality of feed directly affects the growth of carp. Only by improving the quality of carp pellet feed and meeting the nutritional needs of carp growth can high yields be achieved. The following points should be paid attention to when formulating carp feed in practice:
01 Diversification of raw materials
Various raw materials contain different nutrients, such as cottonseed cake with high protein content, corn cake rich in vitamins and so on. Only when a variety of raw materials are used together in a certain proportion can the nutrients in the feed be complete and meet the growth needs of carp.
02 Add appropriate amount of additives
Additives are a general term for inorganic salts, vitamins, binders, attractants, drugs, essential amino acids, antioxidants, etc. Carp feed additives should focus on the following points:
① The added inorganic salt should not only meet the growth needs of carp, but also be absorbed and utilized by the fish. Generally, the trace elements required for the growth of carp are phosphorus, calcium, iron, zinc, sodium, potassium, etc., so potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate (or salt), ferric citrate (or ferric citrate) should be added to the feed. , bone meal, zinc oxide, etc.
②The addition of amino acids should be determined according to the needs of the fish. The content of lysine in vegetable feed is low, and methionine cannot be synthesized by fish itself, so these two amino acids must be added to the feed. ③In order to improve the growth rate of carp, somatotropin can be added. If the prepared feed is not stored for a long time, antioxidants may not be added. During the disease season of fish, drugs can be added to the feed to make bait for feeding.
03 Add animal feed
Carp is a feeding fish, and it requires high protein content in the feed. Generally, the protein content of the fish is required to be more than 43%, and the adult fish is more than 36%. The protein content of plant-based feeds is low, which cannot meet the growth needs of carp, so animal feeds need to be added to improve the protein content of mixed feeds. At the same time, animal feed can improve the palatability of mixed feed, increase the appetite of fish, and promote the growth of fish. Commonly used animal feed is fish meal or silkworm pupae.
04 Reduce the crude fat content of the feed
The crude fat content of the mixed feed should be maintained at 5% to 6%. The crude fat content of animal feeds is higher, and the crude fat content of vegetable feeds also exceeds or approaches this standard. During the breeding process, if the carp accumulates too much fat, it will appear anorexia, which will affect the normal growth of the carp. To reduce the crude fat content of feed, the following measures can be taken: ① Silkworm pupae are used after oil extraction. ②Add feed with low crude fat content, such as distiller's grains, biological yeast, etc. ③Use the cakes with secondary oil.
05 The particle size of the mixed feed should be appropriate
The size of the feed particles that can be swallowed by carp is different. The feed particle size is suitable for carp to swallow, so as to improve the feed utilization rate. Practice has proved that carp with a size of less than 5 cm is suitable for feeding a feed with a particle size of 0.5-1 mm; carp with a body length of 5-8.3 cm can have a feed particle size of 1-2 mm; carp with a body length of 8.3 cm or more, Its feed particle size can be more than 2.5 mm.
